Structural Polymathy

• Not the collection of unrelated hobbies.
• Not encyclopedic recall.
• Not intellectual tourism.
• Not the assertion of universal expertise.

Moving a testable pattern from one domain into another without collapsing the distinctions between them. Every transfer states what it preserves and what it breaks.

A recurring pattern whose form is invariant across surface differences of domain — feedback, symmetry breaking, path dependence, phase transition, closure. A concept, not a metaphor.

Agreement across independent lines of evidence and reasoning. Its strength depends on the independence of the lines being defensible.

Machine systems can supply structural reconnaissance across fields no single human could traverse in a lifetime. Breadth without judgment, however, is not polymathy.

The human agent supplies relevance, value, and answerability. Neither machine nor human alone constitutes an artificial polymath.

Relevance: the judgment that a transferred structure bears on the actual question. Answerability: the willingness to be held responsible for a claim, including its refutation conditions.
